Wandoo Boodja

It is the mission of Keedac to improve the lives of our Aboriginal families in the Wheatbelt, situated between Perth and Kalgoorlie. Keedac is expanding and we aim to provide a holistic, comprehensive service, that lifts people out of poverty, provides mental health support, improves community engagement and teaches work-related skills and qualifications.

When people in WA think of Aboriginal people, they think of the remote deserts of the north-west. It is easy to forget that we have large Indigenous communities here in the Wheatbelt and south of WA. Even though our Wheatbelt people are immediately to the east of the Perth metro area, we share many of the challenges. Half of our land is classed as regional, half as remote, and we care for thousands of our Aboriginal family over nearly 10,000 square kilometres!

We are grateful to the many bodies that support our work and appreciate our own skills and knowledge which we put to good use, and look forward to making a difference, improving the life of the Wheatbelt community.
