We offer our thanks to Lotterywest for several grants that we've received this year, in particular helping us to lift our standards and training at Keedac to serve our community better!

ILA ARTS EXHIBITION BY KEEDAC

Keedac, with support from Arts Narrogin, held an exhibition of Aboriginal art work at the Nexus exhibition centre, Narrogin, in October/November 2023 Funded by ILA ARTS, (Indigenous Language & Arts program), Keedac has been providing training to the local Aboriginal community, in Aboriginal painting skills, and in teaching men how to select wood/branches from the bush and create Burnt Art crafts from these. The program has been very popular with the local community and we were amazed at the attendance at the exhibition, which ran into hundreds of people. Child Safety Policy

Keedac has a Child Safety Policy in line with government advice. We will ensure that child safety and wellbeing is embedded in our organisational culture, reflected in our policies and procedures, and understood and practiced at all levels of our work. We are committed to ensuring the capacity of our sector to do the same.

Lotterywest supports Keedac with new grants

Keedac has been provided with a grant from Lotterywest to assist us in developing a long term strategy plan to extend our services right across the Wheatbelt covering the Ballardong and Wilman communitiesAlso, they have provided a grant to help us create a community yarning circle and garden at our Northam office which will be of direct benefit to the communityWe appreciate the support given to us by Lotterywest @lotterywest #lotterywest

Regional Arts WA: bush crafts program

Our Elder and artist Francis Bolton has continued to provide teaching to a group of our Aboriginal youths in the first half of this year, in a program funded by a grant through Regional Arts WA The lessons have been about crafting bush timber into indigenous objects, works of art that can be treasured. The photos show the team in the bush, learning how to select and collect suitable pieces of timber, while, back at the Hub, they start on the process of cleaning, shaping and creating the work of art #regionalartsaustralia #regionalartswa

Wilman language workshops

Keedac has launched its weekly Noongar Wangkiny Workshops, taught by our Strong Women, Strong Families Team. We hope to return the hearts of generations to Noongar Language, FOR OUR ELDERS!!!

Biridiya Preserves Masterclass

The Biridiya Preserves Masterclass: Keedac's "WA Primary Health Alliance" and "SARC - Strong Women/Strong Families Teams" learned how to preserve fruits and have now become the Teachers for our community. Moorditj Yorga!! #WAPHA #SARC

International Womens Day

Keedac celebrated "INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY" with boss yorga learning, yarning, sharing and supporting each other. Strong Women - Strong Families. #EMBRACE EQUITY!!!! Thank you Narrogin Financial Counselling Service for inspiring our women!!!

Regional Arts WA: Bush craft course makes a difference!

A dozen of our men and youths enjoyed the training from our Aboriginal Elder, Francis Bolton, in bush-making crafts, funded by Regional Arts WA.
