Lotterywest LDM grant presented by Shelley Payne MLC

Keedac was visited October 2022 by Shelley Payne, MLC Wheatbelt, who presented us with a plaque for another grant from Lotterywest This grant is to fund the position of Leadership & Development Manager for Keedac and we have appointed Lorraine Redhead in this role. It is a vital part of planning for the expansion of Keedac support for our Aboriginal community. Lorraine will be working on developing our links with TAFE to facilitate members of our community studying for Cert II and Cert III Community Support and gaining a pathway to employment. New hires for the management team

As Keedac continues to expand, it's become necessary to add to our management team, so we can work on yet further expansion of our services. So here's a summary of the Keedac management team for 2022/23 Leanne Kickett has been CEO of Keedac for four years, building on her long experience with Keedac. Linda Phillips is the CFO since July, having previously been the Compliance Officer for three years. Linda manages grant applications, budgets, accounts and strategy. Youth visit to Dryandra Woodlands

6 October 2022 Keedac arranged a day out to Dryandra Woodlands, we had around 40 people on the day, including staff, youth, clients and other community members.We had a barbecue, kangaroo stew, dampers and fruit platters. The youth played cricket and threw frisbees around, then everyone went for a tour around Dryandra on the bus. It was a great day, and everybody enjoyed themselves, and are all wanting to know when it is going to happen again. Youths Basketball Day

Basketball games a huge success 30 September 2022 with 24 players having a fun morning playing basketball. Then they returned to our Community Hub for lunch and some more relaxation!At our Community Hub we are organizing more events, for fun, to relax, and to teach and help, so do come and visit any day Monday to Friday, 9 till 2, and have a look!

NAIDOC welcome event

On Monday the 4th of July 2022 Keedac held the NAIDOC opening ceremony at 29 Gordon street Narrogin, our Community Hub. We had Basil Kickett doing the opening welcome to country, we had various other services there such as SAC, SWAMS, TAFE and a presentation from Holyoake.It was a great turn out, a good crowd of people turned up, plenty of traditional food, Kangaroo stew and damper and a lot of other food. It was a great start to NAIDOC week.
